Forest Lodge Orchard, led by Mike and Rebecca Casey, won a national award for designing a renewable electric system for their cherry orchard. The award, presented by the Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand, recognizes their efforts in using solar power to operate electric orchard machinery, reducing fossil fuel use, and aiming for zero energy costs.
